Maulana Azad National Institute Of Technology,Bhopal (formerly Maulana Azad College of Technology, MACT), is one of the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges in India. The institute has been named after the great scholar, educationist and the first education Minister of Govt. of India, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. The Govt. of India and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh jointly sponsored the then MACT (a Regional Engineering College) in 1960 to attract bright young students from across the country. The Institute is successfully meeting the objective of producing skilled manpower of the highest quality who is able to cope up with challenges of ever evolving industrial needs of the country.
The Institute is situated in the Bhopal Central region of Bhopal City on southern side. The verdant 650-acre (2.6 km2) campus is on a plateau with academic building, hostels and residential quarters.
MANIT is situated in the Bhopal Central on southern side. Its campus is spread over 650 acres (2.5 km2), on a beautiful plateau. It houses about 3000 students and faculty.
