Brad Pitt and Reliance Big to produce ''Dark Void''

Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt's film production company Plan B and Reliance Big Entertainment have signed a deal with video game company Capcom to make a film on computer game ''Dark Void''.

Pitt will be starring in the feature adaptation of the sci-fi drama which follows the story of a pilot who crash lands in the Bermuda Triangle following a routine mission. He finds himself in an alternate world resembling a primitive Earth where aliens with superior technology are planning to take over civilization, Variety magazine reported.

Capcom, a major video game developer company of Japan, is planning to release the video game on various platforms in North America and Europe in January next year.

The film will be the first project to come out of Reliance's creative partnership with Plan B after they first announced the deal at last year's Cannes Film Festival. Reliance has also inked deals with other major Hollywood superstars including George Clooney, Nicolas Cage, Brett Ratner, Chris Columbus, Jay Roach, Jim Carrey, Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks. The company has also backed Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider's reconstituted DreamWorks banner with USD 325 million in equity in the latest incarnation of the company.

Brad Pitt's company is currently producing the big screen adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's best selling book ''Eat, Pray, Love''. The second part of the film, starring Oscar-winners Julia Roberts, Javier Bardem and actor Robert Jenkins, was recently shot in India. The film is being directed by Ryan Murphy.
