LG GGW-H10N Super Multi Blue

LG GGW-H10N Super Multi Blue
LG company, the world’s leading manufacturer of consumer electronic products, has introduced the first hybrid HD PC optical drive called GGW-H10N Super Multi Blue which allows users to read and record Blu-ray media and works with HD DVD discs (although it has no built-in support for writing the latter).
This device provides a write speed capacity which may not be considered as outstanding, a common occurrence for first generation technologies. The media player can provide a four times speed capacity for reading a single-layered Blu-ray and 3.2 times speed capacity for reading a multi-layered Blu-ray media. In terms of HD DVD discs speed capacity, this device can provide three times speed rate and 12 times speed performance in reading DVD.

The GGW-H10N Super Multi Blue features a write speed of two to four times in Blu-ray media and eight times speed capacity for DVD discs.
It features data connectors and SATA which are located on the back part. It also has a blue LED activity indicator, mounting screws, blank single-layer rewritable Blu-ray disc, and cable connectors.
It features specs such as Cyberlink’s HD Suite which includes the PowerProducer for making and editing multimedia; PowerDVD player software; InstantBurn packet-writing solution; Power2Go burning function, firmware update function which automatically tests the most recent firmware; and Power Backup restoration and archiving function.
The HD DVD and Blu-ray images provided by the device are quite impressive. With its HD Multi-media Interface DVI cable and a card which provides support High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection, users can enjoy high-quality, clear, realistic images when viewing their movies or shows.
The device can accommodate a dual-core processor and 1GB memory. It is also compatible with DVI HDMI cable and HDCP-enabled graphics card (e.g. ATI Radeon X1950 series, nVidia GeForce 7800 or 8800 series) in order to provide function to play back HD content.
While this first generation technology may be the first of its kind, there is still some room for improvements. If there would be a second generation for this which features speed capacity that is relatively fast and a price that is affordable to the general market, this could probably be more successful.

eSlick Reader

eSlick Reader

Foxit has recently introduced its newest device called eSlick Reader which is an electronic book that provides multiple technologies and multi-media features to maximize the reading experience of people.
This electronic reader features Electronic-paper Display Technology developed by E Ink Corporation which allows the screen to project text images. With this technology, users can also have the same experience of reading a real book because the text is vivid, sharp, and clear.
Another impressive about Electronic-paper Display is that it automatically adjusts to the lighting condition which allows people to read even in extremely bright rooms or low light environments.

The eSlick Reader also features lightweight and portable design. Weighing only 180 g and with a thickness of 9.2 mm, this is very easy to carry around, making this ideal for constant travellers who need an entertainment device.

To allow users to have a more convenient reading experience, the electronic book provides zooming capability which allows people to magnify the page up to 400 percent. The text font size can also be adjusted to suit the needs of every reader.
With PDF Creator, documents such as HTML, TXT, PPT, DOC, and XLS can be converted into PDF format. This technology is further complemented with Foxit Reader which maximizes the reading experience of people.
One of the most notable features is the long battery life. Because of Electronic-paper Display which only consumes power when the image is changed (not when the text is displayed from the screen), the battery life is longer compared to other electronic book. When fully-charged, users can view more that 8000 pages before charging the device again for three to four hours.
The electronic book also provides MP3 player to allow users to listen to their favorite songs. (With USB cable, users can simply download music to the MP3 folder.)
The eSlick Reader also includes USB cable, earphones, earphone adapter, SD card (2GB), USB cable, CD software, and manual guide.
This electronic reader is priced at $299.99.
O2 Joggler Home Organizer Picture

O2 recently unveiled its latest product called Joggler which is a home organizer that features screen display that supports multimedia functions that will serve as a “kitchen” calendar for managing all the house works and tasks, making it easier for people to have more control over their lives.
One of the main highlights of this device is the 7-inch screen display equipped with Touch Sensitive Technology for easy navigation, so easy and convenient that even children and older people can use this. Meanwhile, the screen has also been designed to support photo displaying capability (much like the traditional digital photo frame) and can play video recordings in various formats such as Divx, H.264, MPEG-4, and FLV.

Another notable media function is the music player which can support multiple audio formats including WMA, WAV, and MP3. This feature can be applied while playing the photo slideshow for a more dramatic effect in displaying the images. Meanwhile, the music player also includes pre-set Internet radio stations.
One major disadvantage of Joggler is the lack of web browsing capability. When asked for comments, the O2 said that it deliberately excluded this feature for safety reasons, adding that this communal device will be used by all members of the family including children who may access adult sites.
This electronic home organizer also has calendar application which can be accessed online. With this feature, users can simply write appointments for each date so they will not forget their everyday engagements.
Joggler can also serve as a source of weather forecasts and up-to-date news via Skype service. Fortunately, this comes for free. Meanwhile, users can also receive traffic updates with this device.
This device can be connected through Ethernet cable of Wi-FI connectivity to work. It also has USB port to support flash drive and 1GB internal memory.
According to O2, SMS capability will be included immediately before the official launching of Joggler in April. Meanwhile, the company did not say when it will be available in US market and its exact pricing detail.

SV-100B Electronic Paper Image

Brother Industries Ltd., a Japanese electronic company, recently introduced its latest product called SV-100B Electronic Paper which is a mobile device designed to store up to 10,000 documents.
This high-performing electronic document viewer is ideal for professionals and students since the device will allow them to carry around important files anywhere they go.

“Professional workers including doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers, and architects can use SV-100B Electronic Paper to make their lives comfortable since they will no longer have to carry around bulky documents and files”, the Brother Industries said.
Designed specifically for mobile users, the company made sure that the electronic paper is very compact. It measures 202.8 (L) x 139.4 (W) x 15.5 (D) mm and weighs approximately 600 g, making this device very handy.
One of the main highlights of the document viewer is the long battery life. Because it only consumes power every time users turn the page, a single battery charge can approximately last 83 hours. (When the page is not switched, the system barely consumes energy).
This device uses Electronic Ink Technology which does not require backlighting. Another advantage of this technology is that it is viewable in different lighting conditions, from dim-lit rooms to bright outdoor light.
Another impressive feature is the security system which allows users to encrypt their data, thus protecting sensitive files in case the memory card gets lost. In terms of memory capacity, the electronic paper has 2-gigabyte microSD card that allows users to store up to 10,000 documents with the size of A4.
The mobile device has also been designed to support Bluetooth Technology. With this feature, the SV-100B can display text messages from handsets, personal digital assistant (PDA) devices, and other electronic media which support Bluetooth connectivity. To enjoy this feature, a separate device will be needed for this function.
The Japanese company said the SV-100B will be introduced in the US market before the year ends. Meanwhile, it did not provide the exact pricing details.
